TESDA XI Awarding and Closing Ceremony of 2022 Provincial Skills Competition

THE PARTICIPANTS

The finale of the 2022 Provincial Skills Competition was attended by 30 competitors and 29 experts from 10 participating institutions in Davao City and Davao del Sur yesterday afternoon, June 28, 2022, at the Theater Hall of RTC-Korphil, Davao in Buhisan Tibungco, Davao City. The Center Administrator of RTC – Korphil Davao, Engr. Constantino B. Panes, Ed., D. gave his welcome message to the attendees along with the ever-supportive TESDA XI Regional Director, Engr. Lorenzo G. Macapili, DTE also gave a very inspiring and motivational message to all the competitors.

THE SKILL AREAS

18 skills areas were awarded during the closing ceremony. These include Graphic Design Technology, Web Technologies, Information Network Cabling, Hair Dressing, Mechatronics, Welding, Electrical Installation, Beauty Therapy, Restaurant Services, Prototype Modelling, IT Software Solutions for Business, Bakery, Cooking, Fashion Technology, Wall and Floor Tiling, Plumbing and Heating, Carpentry, and Refrigeration and Airconditioning.

THE PRIZES

The winners received Php 2,000.00, Php 1,500.00, and Php 1,000.00 respectively for the gold, silver, and bronze medals, with the chance of competing in the upcoming Regional Skills Competition.

THE WINNERS

In Graphic Design Technology, the gold medalist winner garnered a total of 732 points from RTC – Korphil Davao, Jurell P. Sierra; while Kevin Kurt M. Intong of University of Immaculate Conception Davao and Wen Mark B. Alpuerto of Interface Computer College, Inc. got the bronze medal with 705 points.

In Web Technologies, Interface Computer College, Inc. contender, Ronald U. Soberano won with 722 points, and University of Immaculate Conception Davao contender, Ned Isaiah B. Palacious with 720 points tied for the gold medal.

In Information Network Cabling, Core Institute of Technology Jester Mark Jose Villanueva won the gold with 748 points followed by silver medalist, Richard Mark B. Bumaya, with 712 points from Calinan Institute of Technology, Inc., and the bronze medalist, Manuel R. Selga III, with 702 points from Interface Computer College, Inc.

In Hairdressing, only one competed with 720 points, gold medalist Shem Davide from Philippine Hair and Beauty Life Skills Inc.

In Beauty Care, the solo contender with 720 points, gold medalist April Mae S. Paulo from TESDA – CCNTS.

In Fashion Technology, solo contender Joselito John P. Cabungcal from PWC of Davao, Inc. won gold with 720 points.

In Mechatronics, gold medalists garnering 720 points, Victor C. Madelozo Jr. and Gerald D. Tagalog, from RTC-Korphil Davao.

In Welding, the Gold medalist with 720 points from RTC – Korphil Davao Jan Marie C. Bentayao, followed by the silver medalist with 710 points from PTC – Mintal, Monique L. Villorejo, and the bronze medalist with 702 points from Maximino Pellerin Sr. Technical and Vocational Institute, Mae Mark C. Banlasan.

In Electrical Installation, gold medalist Rod Vincent T. Gabatilla garnered 720 points from RTC – Korphil Davao, and silver medalist Clyde James A. Abella, 710 points from Maximino Pellerin Sr. Technical and Vocational Institute.

In Restaurant Services, gold medalist John Patrick Oledan won by 720 points from RTC-Korphil Davao and silver medalist Anthony P. Tuico Jr. with 712 points from PWC of Davao, Inc.

In Prototype Modelling with only one contender, gold medalist Richard B. Aguirre garnered 720 points from RTC -Korphil Davao.

In IT Software Solutions for Business, solo contender Jericho Paolo C. Opsima won gold with 720 points from the University of Immaculate Conception, Davao.

In Bakery, Jessie E. Lobreza Jr from RTC-Korphil Davao won gold with 754 points, and silver medalist Elmina Ignacio Gubatan, 715 points from PWC of Davao, Inc.

In Cooking, Angel Y. Toyongan from RTC – Korphil Davao got 720 points in which she earned gold and silver medalist Lester John P. Trumata, 712 points from PWC of Davao, Inc.

In Wall and Floor Tiling, solo contender Wilson Lloyd W. De Jesus from RTC – Korphil Davao won gold with 720 points.

In Plumbing and Heating, a solo contender from RTC -Korphil Davao John Lhennard H. Dillera won gold with 720 points.

Solo Contender in Carpentry, Aljan B. Dayondon from RTC-Korphil Davao won gold with 720 points.

In a solo competition in Refrigeration and Airconditioning, Raffy A. Coles from RTC-Korphil Davao won gold with 720 points.

Right after the awarding, the Provincial Director of TESDA XI Davao City/Sur, Adonis F. Culas gave his closing message, congratulated all the competitors as well as acknowledged all the participating institutions and committees on the success of the 2022 Provincial Skills Competition. He also encouraged all the winners who will represent and compete in the Regional Skills Competition to prepare, train and do their best in order to bag the gold this upcoming 2022 Regional Skills Competition and hopefully compete in the National Skills Competition and ultimately the World Skills Competition in Singapore.
