TESDA RTC-KPVTC, Davao, TESDA DC/DS, and DOH XI Team Up to Empower Davaoeños with Livelihood Skills Training on Dishwashing Liquid Making

TESDA RTC-KPVTC, Davao in partnership with DOH Region XI and TESDA PO DC/DS Conducts Livelihood Skills Training on Dishwashing Liquid Making for rehabilitated drug dependents.

On May 12, 2023, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Regional Training Center-Korea-Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KPVTC) in Davao, in partnership with TESDA Provincial Office Davao City/Sur (DC/DS) and Department of Health (DOH) Region XI, conducted a Livelihood Skills Training on Dishwashing Liquid Making for rehabilitated drug dependents at the DOH Region XI Office in Bajada, Davao City.

The training aimed to provide rehabilitated drug dependents with an opportunity to learn a new skill that can help them earn a living and become productive members of society. Ms. Mary Grace A. Pelayo, TESD Specialist II, and Ms. Lanemie C. Pasaol conducted the training and taught the participants how to make dishwashing liquid using locally-sourced materials.

The DOH Region XI Aftercare Unit provided the rationale for the training program, emphasizing the importance of skills development in the recovery and reintegration of drug dependents. According to the Aftercare Unit, acquiring new skills can boost the self-esteem and confidence of individuals in recovery, giving them a sense of purpose and direction in life. Moreover, developing skills can help prevent relapse and facilitate their transition back to the community.

The training program is also part of TESDA’s effort to support the rehabilitation and reintegration of drug dependents into society. The program also aims to empower them with the necessary skills to start their own businesses and provide for their families in the future.

The Livelihood Skills Training on Dishwashing Liquid Making is just one of the many programs offered by TESDA and its partners to support the skills development of individuals who are seeking to improve their lives and contribute to the community.

With the help of the DOH and TESDA PO DC/DS, TESDA RTC-KPVTC continues to provide accessible and quality training programs that can help uplift the lives of Filipinos, one skill at a time.
