RTC-KorPhil Davao Empowers Women with Skills Training and Food Feeding Program

In the celebration of National Women’s Month, the Regional Training Center – Korea Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KorPhil) Davao, led by Engr. Constantino B. Panes, Jr., Ed.D, conducted a Skills Training on Preparation of Hot and Cold Meals cum Food Feeding and Nutrition Awareness Activity on March 24, 2023. The training program, which was part of RTC-KorPhil’s Gender Development Program, aimed to promote gender equality and empower women through skills development and nutrition awareness.

This Gender and Development (GAD) activity which was participated mostly by women was conducted at Buhisan Elementary School. It started with a short program, with Senior TESD Specialist Jestony Mark P. Aprong delivering the opening message, followed by the Center’s GAD Focal and TESD Specialist II Angelli C. Emborgo. Through the latter’s initiative and in coordination with the Principal and faculty of Buhisan ES, the event was made possible. The Teacher’s Club President of Buhisan ES expressed her gratitude to RTC-KorPhil Davao, while the pupils showed their appreciation through a heartful chant. During the food pack distribution to the pupils, the Student Council of RTC-KorPhil Davao facilitated the food feeding with love.

Overall, the event was a success in promoting gender equality and empowering women through skills development and nutrition awareness. This altruistic collaboration between RTC-KorPhil Davao and Buhisan Elementary School serves as an avenue for the women in Buhisan to learn new skills which output enable to feed the pupils as a gesture of contributing development to said community.
