
TESDA XI – Regional Training Center Korea-Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KPVTC) Davao successfully conducted an Orientation on CPD Accreditation and CPD Units Application on May 11, 2026, at RTC-KPVTC Davao, Buhisan, Tibungco, Davao City. The activity was conducted upon the request of RTC-KPVTC Davao and facilitated by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Region XI.
The orientation aimed to equip licensed professionals and employees of RTC-KPVTC Davao with knowledge on the process of becoming an accredited provider of training and seminar programs, as well as the procedures and requirements for applying for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) units and points. The activity also sought to raise awareness of the standards, policies, and accreditation procedures of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
A total of twenty-five (25) participants attended the orientation, including Licensed Professional Teachers (LPT), Engineers (ENGR), Certified Public Accountants (CPA), Registered Nurses (RN), trainers, and other interested officers and personnel of RTC-KPVTC Davao.

The activity was facilitated by Dr. Amseva M. Bentayao, Chief Professional Regulation Officer, who shared valuable insights regarding the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) system and accreditation procedures. During the session, Dr. Bentayao discussed the importance of CPD in maintaining professional competence and supporting career development among licensed professionals. Comprehensive discussions were also presented on the requirements, documentation processes, and guidelines for institutions seeking accreditation as providers of training and seminar programs.

The orientation further covered the procedures for applying for CPD units and points for professional development activities, including the standards and evaluation considerations observed by the PRC. Participants were given the opportunity to raise questions and clarify concerns related to accreditation requirements, validity periods, documentary submissions, and profession-specific CPD requirements during the open forum.
As an outcome of the activity, participants gained enhanced understanding of CPD accreditation procedures and the application process for CPD units and points. The orientation also supported the institution’s initiative to explore future CPD-accredited training programs and strengthened RTC-KPVTC Davao’s plan to pursue accreditation as a Continuing Professional Development Provider. Through this initiative, the center aims to offer seminars, conferences, trainings, and conventions with corresponding CPD units and points for licensed professionals.
