On May 25, 2026, the Diploma in IT / Diploma in Multimedia Arts Tech. (DIT/DMAT) department’s industry partner, Mr. Maximo Ginez III, Operations Manager of Maxmedia Ent., together with Vincent Rey Vicente, MD, RBE, RBF, a faculty member of the US-based AltHash University, visited the DIT/DMAT department and the RTC-KorPhil administration to discuss potential collaborations.
Dr. Vicente specializes in AI in Medicine, Prompt Engineering and Applied AI, Blockchain Strategies, and Non-profit and Healthcare Innovation. He also serves as the Business Development Director of the International Council of Registered Blockchain Professionals (ICORBP).
The meeting focused on possible collaborations for micro-credential courses in Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence (AI), as well as opportunities for international partnership with AltHash University.
During the discussions, both parties agreed to pursue the implementation of the “Fundamentals of Blockchain” Micro-Credential Course (MCC), supported by an e-learning package to be uploaded to the RTC-KorPhil Online Learning Management System (LMS). This initiative will be followed by the offering of “AI Tools and Prompting Essentials” and other trending and emerging industry-based MCCs.
Furthermore, Dr. Vince discussed the possibility of establishing an international partnership between TESDA RTC-KorPhil and AltHash University, including opportunities for scholarship grants. It was also proposed that AltHash University may recognize and credit the MCCs offered by RTC-KorPhil through a ladderized approach.
To formalize and strengthen the collaboration, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) or Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will be prepared and finalized by both parties.
Although Dr. Vince will return to the United States in the first week of June 2026, he assured both parties that he will maintain regular communication and to visit again within the year, as he has other ongoing engagements and transactions in the Davao Region.
The visit was in consonance with the prior meeting of DIT/DMAT industry partners held on May 5, 2026, as well as the recently concluded free training on Introduction to Web 3 and Blockchain conducted on May 21–22, 2026. The training was made possible through the collaboration of industry partner Ferdie James Nervida, President of the Blockchain Practitioners Association of the Philippines (BPAP).
