The Davao City Water District (DCWD), in coordination with the Regional Training Center Korea-Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KPVTC), Davao and Barangay 76-A Bucana, Davao City, formalized a three-way partnership aimed at producing skilled and officially recognized community plumbers throughout the city.
Under the partnership, DCWD identified two (2) participants from each barangay of Davao City to undergo Plumbing NC II training, with the full cost of the program shouldered by DCWD. The initiative seeks to establish a network of competent plumbers who will serve as official plumbing resources in their respective communities.
The signing and coordination activity was held at Purok 2, Brgy. 76-A Bucana, Davao City on May 4, 2026, marking a significant step toward formalizing the collaboration between the water utility, the technical-vocational institution, and local government.
RTC-KPVTC, Davao through its Partnership and Linkages Department (PLD), is set to deliver the technical training component of the program.Upon completion of the training, participants are expected to form an association of official DCWD-affiliated plumbers across Davao City, providing communities with accessible, qualified plumbing services and creating livelihood opportunities for barangay residents.
The participants of the training are identified by DCWD. Each Brgy. of Davao City has 2 participants to become the official plumber in their respective Brgy.
