Powered by Purpose as RTC-KPVTC, Davao Runs a Solar Charging Station for Clean Energy Awareness this Earth Month 2026

Relative to the Earth Month 2026 initiatives of RTC-KPVTC, Davao, the Green TVET Team installed and operated the Green Charge Hub, a solar-powered charging station, within the campus premises for the entire month of April 2026. The installation served as a live demonstration of renewable energy technology integrated into the Center’s daily operations.

The Green Charge Hub allowed personnel and trainees to charge their mobile devices and gadgets using energy harvested from solar panels, providing a tangible and functional illustration of how clean energy can be applied in everyday settings. The station was strategically placed in an accessible area of the campus to maximize visibility and encourage regular use and engagement throughout the month.

Beyond its functional purpose, the Green Charge Hub served as a living learning tool, sparking conversations about energy consumption, the viability of solar technology, and the broader implications of transitioning to renewable energy sources.   The activity aligned with the Center’s role as a technical training institution in modeling the integration of green technologies not only in training delivery but also in institutional operations, thereby demonstrating that clean energy awareness is not merely a subject of study but a practice that can be adopted at the campus level.

There is also a consideration of maintaining the Green Charge Hub as a permanent campus feature beyond Earth Month to serve as a continuous demonstration of the Center’s commitment to renewable energy.

Moreover, the Green TVET team is also set on exploring the expansion of solar energy installations in other areas of the campus in alignment with the Center’s Green TVET Infrastructure goals.
