The event, organized by the Mindanao Technical-Vocational Education and Training Association (MinTVET) in partnership with UniTVET, PEAC, and USeP,
carried the theme: “Data to Decisions: Building Future-Ready TVET through Research (Evidence. Excellence. Engagement).” It gathered TVET stakeholders, trainers, school administrators, and researchers from across Mindanao and beyond.
The conference provided significant opportunities for participants to interact with a large network of TVET professionals and share their perspectives on evidence-based innovations in vocational education. The event encouraged collaborative learning and knowledge exchange through keynote talks, paper presentations, and open forums, intending to improve the country’s skills development, delivery, and direction.
This research conference highlighted the Training Center’s ongoing commitment to supporting a research-driven culture and developing trainer competencies following TESDA’s 8-point agenda and the National Technical Education and Skills Development Plan. The presence of trainer-researchers not only increased RTC-KPVTC, Davao’s exposure in the larger TVET research community, but also reaffirmed the institution’s advocacy for excellence and innovation in technical education. Furthermore, this event represents a step forward in enhancing institutional capacity and developing future-ready, data-informed TVET in the Davao region.
