RTC-KPVTC Davao Participates in National Curriculum Review Workshops for PQF Level 5 Diploma Programs

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) organized a series of national curriculum review workshops this November to update and strengthen the Philippine Qualifications Framework (PQF) Level 5 Diploma Programs across priority sectors. Trainers from the Regional Training Center – Korea-Philippines Vocational Training Center, Davao (RTC-KPVTC Davao) actively participated in these sessions, contributing valuable inputs to ensure that diploma programs remain aligned with industry standards and evolving workforce needs.

The Curriculum Review Workshop for the Electrical, Electronics, and Metals & Engineering sectors was held on November 20–21, 2025 at the KCC Function Hall, Kabayan Hotel, Pasay City, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Based on the official participant list, RTC-KPVTC Davao was represented by Engr. Robert K. Arnaez, DMET-M Head Trainer, Engr. Kim Adrian Tubato, DMET-M Junior Trainer, and Nely M. Siarot, DMET-W Junior Trainer. During the two-day workshop, participants reviewed existing PQF Level 5 diploma curricula, validated program documents, and engaged in discussions to support the refinement of technical program components.

Earlier in the month, on November 5–6, 2025, TESDA conducted another Curriculum Review Workshop—this time for the Construction and Land Transportation sectors—at the National Training Center for Women (formerly TESDA Women’s Center) in Taguig City. Sessions ran from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, featuring plenary presentations, group discussions, and workshops on developing program titles, descriptions, job roles, and model curriculum structures for PQF Level 5 programs. RTC-KPVTC Davao sent four representatives: Armando D. Bolivar, DAT Head Trainer, Jerome G. Gelbolingo, DAT Junior Trainer, Edison C. Tasic, DCET Junior Trainer, and Ar. Janice S. Nadera, DCET Junior Trainer.

These consecutive national workshops highlight TESDA’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality, relevance, and responsiveness of its diploma programs, while also supporting the continued upgrading and curriculum revisions of RTC-KPVTC Davao’s own PQF Level 5 offerings. Through the active involvement of regional experts from the center, these initiatives ensure that program standards, competencies, and curriculum structures remain aligned with national priorities and evolving industry demands. In doing so, TESDA advances its mandate of developing a highly skilled, industry-ready Filipino workforce under the PQF Level 5 framework.
