The Regional Training Center – Korea-Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KPVTC) Davao conducted the profiling activity for the 3rd and 4th Batches of Cookery NC II, 3rd Batch of Bread and Pastry Production (BPP) NC II, and 2nd Batch of Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC I on October 20–21, 2025, at the TESDA Provincial Office Davao Oriental, Government Center, Barangay Dahican, Mati City.
The activity was part of the rollout of the remaining Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) scholarships to be implemented by RTC-KPVTC Davao. It aimed to validate applicant qualifications and prepare trainee records ahead of training implementation.
RTC-KPVTC Davao’s trainers, registrar, and scholarship staff facilitated the profiling flow, which included interviews, T2MIS data encoding, and BSRS account creation. Out of 92 scholarship prospects, 68 applicants successfully completed the process.
Hon. Cheeno Miguel D. Almario, Congressman of the 2nd District of Davao Oriental, also briefly graced the session, expressing support for TESDA’s continuing efforts to expand access to technical-vocational education in the province.
Once the required number of slots is filled, the training will commence with a Training Induction Program (TIP) to formally orient the scholars before the start of classes. However, due to the recent earthquake in Davao Oriental, the training venue will be finalized since the previously proposed site—the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) Evacuation Center in Barangay Bliss, Mati City—is currently being used for emergency response operations.
