RTC – KorPhil Davao Supports DepEd Brigada Eskwela 2023 with Construction Painting Skills Demo and Material Donations

In a show of community spirit and volunteerism, the Regional Training Center – KorPhil Davao took an active part in Brigada Eskwela 2023 last Thursday, August 24, 2023, contributing to the preparatory efforts for the upcoming school year.

The Center engaged in a Construction Painting Skills Demo and generously donated essential painting materials, aligning with the Department of Education’s (DepEd) mission to foster camaraderie and readiness among Filipinos for the school reopening.

“Brigada Eskwela Paghandaan”, an initiative led by DepEd, has been a longstanding platform that rallies individuals and groups to collaborate in sprucing up public school facilities before classes commence. This year, the Regional Training Center – KorPhil Davao made a significant impact by organizing a Construction Painting Skills Demo and providing valuable painting materials. The event, hosted at F. Bustamante Central Elementary School in Tibungco, Davao City, witnessed the participation of key individuals, including Engr. Constantino B. Panes, Jr. Ed. D., the Center Administrator.

Mr. Joel S. Magallanes and Mr. Marvin I. Santosidad, Construction Painting Trainers, showcased their expertise through the demonstration, imparting practical skills to the attendees. Engr. Vincent T. Vasquez, Tile Setting Trainer, also contributed to the event. Representatives from Holcim Philippines Incorporated, Davao City Plant, joined hands in support of the initiative. Notable figures like Noreen Gay P. Castillo and Nimfa T. Asuque, both Master Teachers III from DepEd, graced the occasion with their presence.

The event’s timeline captured a series of meaningful moments, beginning with the opening remarks by Noreen Gay P. Castillo. Anelyn C. Peñero, MT I, followed by acknowledging all participants, creating an atmosphere of unity. The event gained prominence as a representative from Holcim Philippines Incorporated, Davao City Plant, delivered a message, underscoring the significance of collaborative efforts. Mr. Joel S. Magallanes shared his insights, further reinforcing the dedication of RTC – KorPhil Davao.

A key highlight was the formal signing of the Deed of Donation, orchestrated by Dr. Rosemarie T. Realino, MT-II. This moment symbolized the Center’s commitment to supporting the educational community through tangible contributions. Concluding the event, Nimfa T. Asuque, MT III, expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of all participants.
