About twenty (20) personnel from the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of the Local Government Unit of Davao City, who were part of the Anti-Smoking Belching Unit (ASBU) Operation Team, underwent training in Engine Servicing and Motor Vehicle Emission Control Technician (MVECT) on February 1, 2023 at the Regional Training Center – Korea-Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KorPhil) Davao
As part of the Anti-Smoke Belching Campaign jointly conducted by the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and the City Government of Davao through its CENRO Anti-Smoke Belching Unit (ASBU), the regulations on smoke-belching vehicles were being enforced, and the operations of Private Emission Testing Centers (PETCs) were being checked. Hence, the training aimed to improve the skills and knowledge of the new technical personnel and to enhance the tools and resources necessary for their competent performance of their duties.
The training program was designed to provide the participants with basic technical knowledge and skills in gasoline and diesel engine tune-up, the emission control system, and how to conduct emission testing. The 10-day training was conducted by Mr. Armando D. Bolivar, a Senior TESD Specialist and Diploma in Automotive Technology Head Trainer of RTC-KorPhil Davao.
