RTC-KorPhil Davao trainees sharpen entrep skills in TABO event

 “Earning while Learning”

The RTC-KorPhil Davao have launched on 7-8 March 2024 the TABO, a food bazaar event that allows 3-year Diploma of Technology trainees to sharpen their entrepreneurial skills and to earn profits at the Multipurpose Hall of the Center in Buhisan, Tibungco, Davao City.

In the event, 22 trainees of the Diploma in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Technology marketed their food products such as pastil rice, beverages, desserts, and viands in time of the two major activities of the Center, which are the Korean Festival on March 7 and Founding Anniversary on March 8 .

TABO is a visayan rootword for Tabuan, meaning market place where people gather to sell items such as good and other merchandize items. With the TABO of the DABET done in time of the two events of KorPhil, the trainees gained total sales of Php 5,969.00 in the first day and Php 7,657.25 in the second day.

“The TABO allowed us to apply what we learned from the lectures on how to run businesses. Aside from that, we also enjoy the profit of the sales. Indeed, we learn and we earn”, says Aiscent May P. Abling, a DABET trainee who served as the general manager of the TABO event.

The TABO event is under the Technoprenuership course of DABET  and was made successful through the endorsement of the Training Department Office, Administrative Department and Gender and Development Offices.
