RTC KorPhil Davao Deploys DCET Trainees for SIL

In a significant stride towards industry readiness, 18 trainees from the Regional Training Center – Korea-Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KPVTC) Davao, enrolled in the Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology program, have embarked on an immersive journey in the Construction Industry. Spearheaded by the dynamic efforts of RTC-KPVTC Davao’s Industry Coordinator, TESD Specialist II Joie Vincent R. Dagohoy, the trainees were successfully deployed to various esteemed construction companies in Davao City on June 18, 2023.
The deployment included six (6) trainees assigned to KWIVER Construction OPC, who will actively participate in KWIVER’s construction projects at Bamboo Bootcamp, Brgy. Baganihan, Marilog District, Davao City, under the expert guidance of Engr. Kevin P. Babate, General Manager. Additionally, four (4) trainees joined CCAB’s Design and Services at Tulip Drive, Matina, Davao City, where they will be mentored by Arch. Carlyne Joy Tenecio-Solis, CEO. Meanwhile, four (4) other trainees were deployed at H.A. Morgan Construction Services, Inc., stationed at Km. 8 Diversion Road, Buhangin, Davao City, under the supervision of Project Manager John Anthony Lebosada. Lastly, four (4) trainees embarked on their journey with J-Crap Industrial Engineering Services at Los Amigos, Tugbok, Davao City, under the guidance of Andie C. Lolo, General Manager.
Throughout the deployment period, the trainees will be exposed to diverse projects and roles, providing them with a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies of the construction industry. As active participants, they will gain valuable insights into various tasks, ranging from project planning and design to project implementation, management, and quality control.
Supervised Industry Learning forms a pivotal component of the Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology curriculum at RTC-KPVTC Davao. The trainees will receive hands-on experience and practical exposure to real-world construction projects during this program, which has a duration of 320 hours. By working directly in the field under the mentorship of industry professionals, these aspiring civil engineers will have the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge they have acquired in the classroom to real-life situations.
