RTC-KorPhil Davao declares 120 graduates of 3-year Diploma

The tassels are worth the hassles! It was indeed the proudest moment for the 120 graduates of the 3-year Diploma of Technology (DT) of the RTC-KorPhil Davao for successfully completing the academic and curricular requirements paving their ways to march in the 2023 Commencement Exercises on December 9, 2023 at the Multipurpose Hall of the Center in Buhisan, Tibungco, Davao City.

          With 25 trainees per program enrolled on 2019 for the nine DT programs offered in the Center, this year’s commencement declared Diploma graduates with 15 Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Technology, 12 Automotive Technology, 13 Civil Engineering Technology, 23 Hotel and Restaurant Technology, 13 Heating, Ventilating and Air-conditioning Technology, 6 Industrial Automation and Mechatronics Technology, 18 Information Technology, 8 Mechanical Engineering Technology and 12 Welding Technology graduates.  

          For three years, including the one-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the graduates are scholars of the Universal Access to Tertiary Education Act (UAQTEA). This means that all of them availed free tuition fees for the training and assessment, daily allowances, insurances, book allowances, and other privileges.    

          Present in the graduation ceremony was invited guests such as TESDA Deputy Director General for Special Concerns Vidal D. Villanueva III, Acting TESDA Davao City District Office Myrna C. Roa, Davao del Norte Provincial Director Dr. Jasmin J. Neri, and Industry partners of the Center from various sectors.

          DDG Vidal III congratulated the graduates for their achievements, conveying the greetings of the TESDA Director General Suharto T. Mangudadatu, PhD. DDG Vidal further challenged the graduate to use their learning in TESDA to excel in their future careers.

          During the Ceremony, the graduates received their certificates and recognitions such as Competency Awards for various qualifications taken, Best in Thesis, and other Special Awards.

          Recognitions of Industry Partners also took the spotlight as a gesture of gratitude through certificate and plaques for their important role of the industries during the Supervised Industry Learning (SIL) or On-the-Job Training (OJT) days of the graduates.

          The nine DT programs of RTC-KorPhil Davao are some of the 500 Diploma Programs offered by TESDA nationwide as reported by the agency on its official website. The DT program is a high-level of technical vocational education which aims to produce technicians and technologists thus upgrading TESDA graduates to becoming a skilled in the art of a qualification, to being supervisors or proceed to a higher education institution.
