MSU–General Santos Engineering Technology Students Conduct Educational Visit at TESDA RTC-KPVTC Davao

The Regional Training Center – Korea-Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KPVTC), Davao warmly welcomed the Engineering Technology students of Mindanao State University–General Santos City (MSU-GSC) during their educational visit held on November 21, 2025. The visit formed part of the students’ course requirements in Industrial Planning and Management, aimed at strengthening their industry exposure and enhancing their practical understanding of technical-vocational operations. The delegation, composed of students from various diploma and degree programs under the Department of Engineering Technology, was received by Engr. Efren T. Ojeda, Supervising TESD Specialist, together with Nelson Z. Embat, TESD Specialist II, who facilitated the orientation on TESDA’s operations and guided the students through the center’s training facilities.

A total of 126 students joined the visit, including 16 from the Diploma in Building Construction Technology, 8 from the Diploma in Machine Shop Technology, 14 from the Diploma in Automotive Technology, 43 from the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Technology major in Electrical and Renewable Energy (3rd Year), 21 from the 4th Year level of the same program, and 24 from the Diploma in Electrical Technology. Their professors accompanied them throughout the activity to ensure that the students maximized the learning opportunities provided by the center.

During the tour, the students explored key specialized training areas, including the facilities for Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Diploma in Automotive Technology, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology – Mechanical, and Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology – Welding. These areas showcased modern equipment and hands-on training environments designed to simulate real-world industry standards. The trainers from respected areas also briefed the students on competency standards, training regulations, and the various programs offered by TESDA Region XI, providing them with a broader perspective on technical education and career pathways in the engineering and industrial sectors.

The educational visit provided MSU-GSC students with an opportunity to observe actual workshop operations and gain deeper insights into modern industrial processes, workplace protocols, and emerging technologies relevant to their respective fields. RTC-KPVTC Davao expressed its appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed its continued support for academic–industry partnerships that promote meaningful and practical learning experiences for future engineering and technical professionals.
