TESDA trainees, alumni, and local entrepreneurs transformed their Knowledge, Attitude, Skills, and Habits (KASH) into real earning, generating over ₱50,000 during TABO 2025, a three-day food bazaar organized by TESDA RTC-KorPhil Davao from May 26 to 28, 2025 at the RTC-KorPhil Multipurpose Hall in Buhisan, Tibungco. The bazaar attracted hundreds of visitors and buyers, showcasing food innovations and entrepreneurial spirit led by the trainees—turning their KASH into cash.

Held in celebration of Farmer’s and Fisherfolk’s Month, TABO 2025—which stands for Trabaho, Ani, Benta at Oportunidad—was spearheaded by the trainees of Technopreneurship and Introduction to Meetings, Incentives, Conference and Events (MICE) courses under the Diploma in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Technology (DABET)and Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Technology, respectively.

A number of alumni and local entreprenuers also exhibited their products in the event.

TABO 2025 theme “Binhi ng Lupa at Dagat, Ani Para sa Lahat” reflected the goal of TABO to bring to the consumers the bounty of the seas and land produced by the hardworking farmers and fisherfolks.

As part of the opening ceremony on May 26, resource persons were invited from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST XI), Department of Agriculture – Agricultural Training Institute (DA-ATI XI), and Department of Agriculture – Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (DA-PhilMech). They shared insights on a wide range of programs and technologies aimed at supporting farmers and fisherfolks, providing over 500 TESDA diploma trainees with valuable knowledge on real-world applications of science, training, and mechanization in agriculture.

In addition to the keynote talk, the three agencies also participated as exhibitors, showcasing their services, innovations, and outreach programs aimed at uplifting the lives of farming and fishing communities across the Davao Region.

In his message, RTC-KorPhil Davao Center Administrator Engr. Constantino B. Panes Jr. Ed.D said that “TABO 2025 is not just a bazaar. It is a celebration of lives, of livelihoods, and of learning. It is our way of saying “salamat” to the farmers and fisherfolks — the true heroes of our land and seas“. On his part, Training Department Head Mario M. Dela Cerna, MTE bared words of support to the efforts of the trainees in organizing the event, highlighting TABO as an effective platform for the trainees to apply what they have learned from their courses.

Adding fun to the TABO celebration is the pig catching competition held at the grounds of the Center which was participated by the trainees coming from the different trade areas, whose winners received cash prizes.

Indeed, the synergy of education, enterprise, and public service made TABO 2025 a successful celebration—not only of agricultural workers—but also of the young technopreneurs preparing to make their marks in the field of entrepreneurship and events management.
