Financial Literacy Seminar Highlights Practical Money Skills at RTC-KPVTC, Davao

In accordance with Memo No. 875, s. 2025, RTC-KPVTC, Davao conducted a Financial Literacy Seminar for its personnel and students to strengthen their financial capability and resilience. The activity was designed to provide participants with essential life skills on money management, savings, and investments, ensuring that they are equipped not only with technical competencies but also with practical knowledge to support their overall well-being. This collaboration with Metrobank Securities (MetroSec) is also part of the TESDA Region XI “Road to 1,000 Partnerships” initiative, which aims to broaden industry linkages and promote partnerships that enhance learning opportunities and institutional development.

On September 30, 2025, RTC-KPVTC, Davao successfully held the Financial Literacy Seminar at the RTC-KPVTC, Davao Mini-Theatre Hall with the active participation of personnel and selected students. The half-day program covered two timely and relevant topics: “The Art of Money Management: Adulting Guide to Crisis-Proof Your Finances” and “Fool-Proofing Your Finances: How to Find Your Perfect Investment Match.”

The sessions were delivered by Mr. John Philip Billones, Business Development Section Head–Mindanao, and Ms. Isnaira Dirampatun, Business Development Associate, both from Metrobank Securities (MetroSec). They shared valuable insights on budgeting, savings discipline, and investment strategies, with emphasis on how individuals can safeguard their finances during crises and identify opportunities suited to their goals. Their talks were designed to be practical and relatable, making financial literacy concepts easier to understand and apply.

The successful conduct of the activity was made possible with the support of Engr. Efren T. Ojeda, Supervising TESD Specialist of RTC-KPVTC, Davao, who underscored the importance of initiatives that go beyond technical skills and contribute to the holistic development of both personnel and learners. The event concluded with active engagement from the participants through questions and discussions, highlighting the relevance of the seminar in today’s challenging economic environment. The activity not only imparted financial knowledge but also reinforced RTC-KPVTC, Davao’s commitment to lifelong learning and to TESDA Region XI’s Road to 1,000 Partnerships milestone.
