Davao Region Competitors Set to Showcase Skills at ASEAN World Skills Competition

Davao Region – Team Agila Competitors especially from the Regional Training Center – Korea Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KPVTC) in Davao Region are eagerly preparing to represent the Philippines in the upcoming 13th ASEAN Skills Competition, also known as the WorldSkills Competition. A send-off ceremony to honor the Philippine delegation will take place today at the Tandang Sora Hall, TESDA Complex, Taguig City, at 5PM.

The highly anticipated skills competition, scheduled from July 22 to 27, 2023, will bring together participants from ASEAN member countries at the esteemed Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre in Singapore. Skilled professionals and competitors will gather to showcase their expertise and compete for top honors in a wide range of vocational skills.

Leading the Philippine delegation is Engr. Constantino B. Panes Jr, an esteemed expert in Mechatronics, who will serve as the Chief Expert in this field. Alongside him is Rhian Dhae B. Sarsaba, an accomplished Mechatronics expert, who will contribute her extensive knowledge and skills to the competition.Adding to the contingent’s diversity of talents is Arlyn L. Basquez, an expert in the field of Hairdressing, whose expertise will be vital in the intense hairdressing challenges that lie ahead.

Competing in the Mechatronics category are Victor C. Madelozo Jr. and Gerald D. Tagalog, graduates of RTC-KPVTC, Davao. Their participation in the competition presents an opportunity to showcase their skills on a global stage and gain recognition for their dedication and hard work. Joining them is Shem L. Davide, a talented competitor specializing in Hairdressing. 

The send-off ceremony, taking place later today at 5PM, will serve as a significant milestone for the Philippine delegation. It will provide them with encouragement and support from their families, trainers, and well-wishers as they embark on their journey to Singapore. The event will be an opportunity to acknowledge the determination and excellence of these skilled individuals, who have dedicated countless hours honing their crafts to reach this stage.

The 13th ASEAN Skills Competition promises an exciting week of competition and camaraderie as participants from different countries converge to compete in a variety of skills, including Mechatronics, Hairdressing, and many more. As the send-off ceremony approaches, the entire nation stands behind the Philippine delegation, offering unwavering support and best wishes.
