Daikin and TESDA Partnership Unveils State-of-the-Art HVAC Training Center in RTC-KPVTC Davao

Daikin, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, has partnered with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to establish the Daikin HVAC Training Center at the Regional Training Center – Korea-Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KPVTC) Davao.

On March 17, 2023, a turnover and opening ceremony was conducted at the RTC-KorPhil to officially endow the refurbished HVAC laboratory equipped with variety of modern Daikin Air-conditioning units and training facilities to the Center. Said event was attended by Daikin Vice President Ikuo Kani, Provincial Director of Davao City Davao del Sur Adonis F. Culas, RTC-KPVTC Davao Center Administrator Engr. Constantino B. Panes, Jr., Ed.D., RTC-KPVTC Supervising TESD Specialist Gil Gonzales, and Diploma in Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning Technology Head Trainer Eugene Valdez.

During the ceremony, Mr. Kani expressed his appreciation to RTC-KPVTC Davao for their collaboration with Daikin and highlighted the importance of investing in human resource development to meet the nation’s demand for HVAC services. The opening ceremony featured a short program followed by a traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony and an area tour of the state-of-the-art Training Center.

The Training Center’s newly endowed top-notch facilities and high-quality training programs are expected to contribute to the development of highly skilled and competent HVAC professionals in the Philippines

In related development, as part of their Skills Upgrading Program, Daikin has started training the 2nd batch of trainees on RAC Servicing (Packaged-type air-conditioning unit / Commercial refrigeration equipment (PACU/CRE) NC II utilizing the newly turned-over DAIKIN-TESDA HVAC Training Center in RTC-KorPhil Davao.

Daikin’s partnership with TESDA and the Philippine government is a significant milestone for the HVAC industry in the Philippines. The opening of Daikin’s training center in RTC-KPVTC Davao demonstrates its commitment to supporting the country’s economic growth and development through upskilling the whole Philippine Air conditioning Industry, increasing the number of installers, and updating the latest technology.
