Bridging the Gap: Mindanao State University – General Santos Engineering Students Embark on Educational Tour to RTC-KPVTC Davao

In an effort to provide their Electrical and Electronics Engineering students with real-world industry exposure, Mindanao State University – General Santos requested to conduct an educational tour of various manufacturing plants, power providers, telecommunications, broadcasting companies, and other related industries. As part of this tour, the university sought to visit RTC-KPVTC Davao to learn about the operation, process, and facilities of the training center. The goal was to provide their students with an opportunity to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical applications by allowing them to visualize and assimilate their academic knowledge. The request was granted, and on April 21, 2023, 80 students and faculty staff from Mindanao State University – General Santos visited RTC-KPVTC Davao for an educational tour.

Mindanao State University – General Santos took a proactive step in providing their Electrical and Electronics Engineering students with real-world industry exposure through an educational tour of various manufacturing plants, power providers, telecommunications, broadcasting companies, and related industries. As part of this enlightening journey, the university specifically sought to visit RTC-KPVTC Davao, the TESDA XI Regional Training Center – Korea-Philippines Vocation Training Center, to gain insights into the operation, process, and facilities of the training center. On April 24, 2023, 80 students and faculty staff from Mindanao State University – General Santos eagerly arrived at RTC-KPVTC Davao for an immersive educational experience.

Upon their arrival, the 80-man team was warmly welcomed by the faculty and staff of RTC-KPVTC. They were given the opportunity to tour the nine (9) Diploma or Trade Areas of the Training Center, witnessing new technologies, learning about new environments at their own pace, and immersing themselves in an authentic industry experience. The visit to RTC-KPVTC Davao proved to be a valuable opportunity for the students to be introduced to the Diploma and Short-Term courses offered by TESDA XI – RTC-KPVTC, which could potentially spark their interest to enroll and gain additional skills and knowledge.

As the day came to a close, the students and faculty staff from Mindanao State University – General Santos departed from RTC-KPVTC Davao with a newfound understanding of the industry and the potential opportunities for further skill development. The educational tour proved to be a meaningful experience that would undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on the students’ educational and professional journey, as they continue to pursue excellence in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
