APACC Journey: RTC-KorPhil’s Re-Orientation and Re-Evaluation for APACC Accreditation

In order to reshape the Training Center’s journey toward APACC re-accreditation, the Regional Training Center-Korea Philippines Vocational Training Center, Davao had a three-day event on “Re-Orientation and Re-Evaluation of RTC-KPVTC Davao Employees for APACC Accreditation” last May 4-6, 2022 at the Blue Lotus Hotel, Quimpo Boulevard, Ecoland, Davao City.

The event was formally started with a welcome message from the Center Administrator of the Regional Training Center, Engr. Constantino B. Panes, Jr. Ed.D. After which, a brief history of the Training Center’s APACC journey was presented by Mr. Gil D. Gonzales, APACC Self-Study Team Leader.

Highlighted in this mentoring activity and this quest for APACC re-accreditation of the Training Center is the facilitation of Provincial Director Alvin L. Yturalde of La Union Provincial Office. With the primary goal of re-orienting RTC-KorPhil employees, most specifically the newly-hired personnel, PD Yturalde first presented what APACC is and where to start in the preparation phase; its benefits for the institution; the various criteria for evaluation; the pieces of evidence to be gathered; and the Training Center’s readiness for the re-accreditation.

After which, a series of presentations by RTC-KorPhil’s Criteria Managers commenced. First is from the Governance and Management Criterion, Mr. Rhian Dhae B. Sarsaba; followed by Ms. Marilou F. Coloma of Teaching and Learning Criterion; Mr. Aenon Prince A. Alporte of Human Resources Criterion; Engr. Jeric F. Bilita of Research and Development Criterion; Ms. Theresa F. Rozaldo for Image and Sustainability Criterion; Mr. Joel A. Atablanco for the Other Resources Criterion; and Ms. Shiela Mae T. Agonia of Support to Students Criterion.

This purposive mentoring is anchored in the goal of assisting the TTIs in unlocking the difficulties and challenges in their quality journey and helping them prepare their application for APACC accreditation which is an essential mandate of Secretary Isidro S. Lapeña for all TTIs.
