A total of 56 aspiring construction professionals from the Regional Training Center – Korea-Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KPVTC), Davao began their Supervised Industry Learning (SIL) with the Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology (DCET) industry partners starting July 10, 2025, in various sites across Davao City and as far as Cateel, Davao Oriental. The deployment, which was rolled out in three phases over five days, marked a significant milestone in TESDA’s continuing efforts to bridge skills training and actual industry practice in the construction sector.
On July 10, 2025, twenty-five (25) trainees were dispatched to three key construction sites under H.A. Morgan Construction Services, Inc. — Bacaca, Bajada, and Matina Pangi. On the following day, another 15 trainees were deployed under Kwiver Construction OPC and LM Arkitekto Architectural Services in Panacan, Cabantian, and Lanang. On the third wave, July 14, 2025, sixteen (16) trainees were assigned to project sites in Cateel, Bago Gallera, and Los Amigos through A N Escalante Construction Inc., National Master Plumbers Association (JLM Architects), and J-CRAP Industrial Engineering Services.
The deployment was part of the Supervised Industry Learning (SIL) program, a core requirement under TESDA’s competency-based training system. The initiative provided real-world experience to help trainees transition from classroom instruction to hands-on job performance, in line with the agency’s mission to produce highly skilled, job-ready graduates.
For both trainees and partner companies, the deployment represented more than a routine assignment—it was a direct investment in the future of the Philippine construction industry. By immersing students in active job sites, the program boosted confidence, sharpened technical know-how, and instilled workplace discipline and collaboration.
As the trainees donned hard hats and carried toolkits across Davao’s construction sites, they carried more than technical skills—they carried hope, ambition, and the promise of national progress, one foundation at a time.
