RTC-KPVTC, Davao Equips Trainees for Real-World Success Through SIL Predeployment Orientation

The Regional Training Center – Korea-Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KPVTC), Davao successfully conducted a Supervised Industry Learning (SIL) Predeployment Orientation for two batches of trainees on July 27, 2025, at the Training Center’s Multipurpose Hall. The activity was held in two separate sessions — morning and afternoon — to accommodate all participants and ensure an organized, focused, and enriching learning experience.

The orientation aimed to prepare trainees for their upcoming industry immersion by equipping them with practical workplace knowledge, safety protocols, and values essential to succeeding in real-world environments.

In his Welcome Message, Mr. Mario M. Dela Cerna, MTE, Acting Supervising TESD Specialist of the Training Center, emphasized the importance of the SIL program as a critical bridge between classroom learning and hands-on industry experience. He encouraged trainees to approach their immersion with professionalism, integrity, and the core values promoted by TESDA.

A comprehensive overview of the SIL program followed, led by Mr. Joel A. Atablanco, Senior TESD Specialist and SIL Focal Person. He clearly laid out the trainees’ roles, expectations, and responsibilities during their immersion, providing essential guidelines to ensure a smooth and productive engagement with their host companies.

To strengthen the participants’ workplace readiness, Ms. Christine Joy A. Ramones, the designated Guidance Counselor of the Training Center, facilitated engaging sessions on Work Ethics and Effective Conflict Resolution and Teamwork. She stressed the importance of accountability, adaptability, and collaborative effort in any professional setting.

Mr. Atablanco returned to deliver sessions on Confidentiality in the Workplace and Workplace Safety, reminding trainees of the importance of protecting sensitive information and observing strict safety protocols during their immersion.

The orientation was capped with Closing Remarks from Mr. Aenon Prince A. Alporte, Administrative Officer V, who motivated the trainees to treat their SIL deployment as a vital step toward their future careers. He emphasized that the experience would not only develop their technical competencies but also mold them into responsible and reliable members of the workforce.

Marked by active participation and engaging discussions, the activity showcased the trainees’ readiness to embrace real-world challenges. Through this orientation, RTC-KPVTC, Davao reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to producing competent, values-driven, and industry-ready graduates prepared to contribute meaningfully to national development.
