As part of its Green TVET Program and in celebration of Earth Month, the Regional Training Center – Korea-Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KPVTC), Davao actively participated in a tree planting and clean-up drive held on April 27, 2025, in Barangay Carmen, Baguio District, Davao City.
The RTC-KPVTC Davao team, composed of ten members and led by Admin Head Aenon Prince A. Alporte, contributed to the planting of trees along the Hamungaya Farm vicinity and joined the clean-up operation at Panigan River. The activity was organized in cooperation with the Barangay Carmen local government, under the leadership of Barangay Captain Hon. Socrates Estomata.
This initiative was conducted in collaboration with other TESDA-affiliated institutions, including the TESDA XI Davao City District Office (DCDO), Provincial Training Center (PTC) Davao, and Wangan National Agricultural School.
RTC-KPVTC Davao’s active involvement underscored its commitment to environmental protection and community engagement—core values embedded in the Green TVET advocacy.
“This is more than just a one-day event—it reflects the values we try to build in our trainees and staff,” said Admin Head Alporte. “We want to be a Training Center that not only trains skilled workers but also responsible citizens who care for the environment.”
The event aimed to support local reforestation efforts, raise environmental awareness, and contribute to the preservation of the Panigan River, a key natural resource in the area. It also aligned with Earth Month’s global message of climate action and sustainable living.
By participating in initiatives like this, RTC-KPVTC Davao continues to play a vital role not only in technical education but also in promoting sustainable practices and civic responsibility in the communities it serves.
