RTC-KPVTC, Davao Concludes 2nd Semester 6S Competition for 2025

In line with the continued greening TVET efforts of the Regional Training Center- Korea Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KPVTC), Davao, the Innovation, Research, and Green TVET Team conducted the 6S Competition for the 2nd Semester of 2025 on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. The activity was formally announced through Memorandum No. 1247, series of 2025, issued by the Officer in Charge on December 15, 2025.

To strengthen transparency, benchmarking, and inter-unit collaboration, RTC-KPVTC, Davao also invited external evaluators from other TESDA Operating Units through Memorandum No. 1248, series of 2025. The invitation was extended to the Davao de Oro Provincial Office and the Provincial Training Center–Davao de Oro, whose representatives were requested to serve as lead judges for the competition.

The 6S Competition is a regular biannual initiative that reinforces the Training Center’s discipline in applying the 6S principles: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, and Safety. It supports RTC-KPVTC, Davao’s commitment to environmental sustainability, workplace safety, and operational efficiency, aligning with its vision of becoming a model Green TVET institution.

The 2nd Semester 6S Competition drew active participation from all departments, personnel, and trainees. Evaluation areas covered Administrative Offices, Dormitories, Trade Areas, and Facilities/Services, with each group demonstrating improvements in cleanliness, organization, safety compliance, and sustainability practices.

The judging process was strengthened by the participation of external evaluators. Ms. Mafel Joan N. Gamale, Supervising TESD Specialist and Center Administrator-Designate of PTC–Davao de Oro, and Ms. Lovella Mae C. Lagura, Senior TESD Specialist of PTC–Davao de Oro, served as lead judges for the activity.

They were also joined by RTC-KPVTC, Davao’s internal evaluators, including Engr. Lougino A. Miguel, Arch. Janice S. Nadera, Mr. Edison C. Tasic, Mr. Jason N. Robles, Ms. Johanna Rheasle P. Fernandez, and Ms. Mary Grace L. Sijuela. Together, they formed two evaluation teams assigned to Administrative Offices, Dormitories, Trade Areas, and Facilities/Services.

The judges convened for an opening meeting at 9:00 AM in the APACC Room before proceeding with the assessments. Each area was evaluated using the CY 2025 6S Guidelines.

Results from both the 1st and 2nd Semester competitions will be consolidated to determine the Best 6S Implementer for Year 2025, which will be awarded during the Year-End Performance and Assessment (YEPA) in December 19, 2025. Winners will receive cash prizes, certificates, and plaques of recognition.

The successful conduct of the 2nd Semester 6S Competition reaffirmed RTC-KPVTC Davao’s dedication to quality, safety, and environmental stewardship. The participation of external judges further strengthened objectivity and inter-unit collaboration, supporting TESDA’s mission to transform lives through technical education and workplace excellence.
