TIP conducted at Mati City for 2nd Phase of STEP Implementation of RTC-KPVTC Davao

The momentum for the Regional Training Center – Korea-Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KPVTC) Davao as they conducted the Training Induction Program (TIP) for the second phase for set of Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) scholarships continues, taking place on November 28, 2025 at Provincial Training Center (PTC) – Davao Oriental, Brgy. Dahican, Mati City.

The event gathered ninety-seven (97) newly accepted scholars from Batch 2 Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC I, Batch 3 Bread and Pastry Production (BPP) NC II, and Batches 3 and 4 of Cookery NC II, marking another milestone in expanding livelihood opportunities for Davao Oriental residents.

The TIP was spearheaded by RTC-KPVTC Davao, led by Engr. Efren T. Ojeda, Supervising TESD Specialist, under the guidance of TESDA Davao City District Office (DCDO) Director Tarhata S. Mapandi, CESO III.

Adding strong local support, 2nd District Congressman Hon. Cheeno Miguel D. Almario graced the program, reaffirming his commitment to training interventions that uplift communities and strengthen employability.

The TIP oriented scholars on program policies, training expectations, and the benefits of the STEP scholarship—ensuring they are fully prepared to begin their journey toward new skills, new careers, and new opportunities. The scholars were also given demonstrations on the use of the Biometric-enabled Scholarship Registration System (BSRS), the system used by TESDA in the monitoring of their attendances.
