The Supervised Industry Learning (SIL) program is a mandatory component of all Diploma programs under the Philippine Qualifications Framework (PQF) Level 5, as mandated by TESDA Circular No. 018, Series of 2023: Omnibus Guidelines on SIL. This circular directs that Diploma trainees must undergo structured industry deployment with partner enterprises to bridge classroom-based learning and real-world practice. SIL ensures that trainees acquire relevant industry exposure, practical experience, and competency-based application of their skills in line with TESDA’s goal of producing job-ready graduates.

On August 22, 2025, 25 trainees from the Diploma in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Technology (DABET) program of the Regional Training Center–Korea Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KPVTC), Davao successfully completed their Supervised Industry Learning (SIL) at Mio’s Angel Prime Integrated Farm, Kapalong, Davao del Norte.
With the blessing and support of Engr. Constantino B. Panes, Jr., Ed.D., Center Administrator of RTC-KPVTC, Davao, the event highlighted both the culmination of the SIL program and the forging of a stronger partnership with industry stakeholders.
The program of activities opened with the invocation and singing of the Philippine National Anthem, followed by welcome remarks from Engr. Lougino A. Miguel, DABET Head Trainer. The highlight of the day was the presentation of the 25 SIL trainees who successfully completed their industry deployment, acknowledged by their trainers Engr. Ailyn R. Tejero and Ms. Mary Grace P. Arellano.

A meaningful part of the program was the message of Ms. Teresita F. Parado, Owner of Mio’s Angel Prime Integrated Farm. In her speech, she warmly congratulated the trainees for their dedication and perseverance, while also expressing her commitment to support TESDA’s mission of building skilled, disciplined, and environmentally conscious graduates. She emphasized that partnerships between farms and training institutions are vital in promoting food security and sustainable livelihoods in the region.

Another key moment of the event was the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing between RTC-KPVTC, Davao and Mio’s Angel Prime Integrated Farm, which formalized the upcoming DABET Trainers’ Immersion Program. This immersion will be participated in by Engr. Lougino A. Miguel, Engr. Ailyn R. Tejero, Engr. John Rome L. Balbanida, and Ms. Mary Grace P. Arellano, aimed at equipping trainers with deeper knowledge and exposure to integrated and sustainable farming practices.

The program concluded with closing remarks and the awarding of certificates, symbolizing not only the successful completion of SIL but also the strengthened collaboration between TESDA and its valued industry partner.
