A total of 54 Senior High School (SHS)-TVL teachers from the Department of Education Region XI (DepEd XI) have successfully completed the Conduct Competency Assessment (COC 2) Leading to Trainers Methodology (TM) Level 1 program. The training, which ran from March 4 to 10, 2025, followed by competency assessments from March 10 to 17, 2025, was held at the TESDA XI Regional Training Center—Korea-Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KPVTC), Davao. This initiative was a joint effort between DepEd and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

The program was graced by key officials, including DepEd Davao City Division Education Supervisor Marcelo O. Roco, TESDA XI Provincial Director Novielita A. Dispo, and RTC-KPVTC, Davao Center Administrator Engr. Constantino B. Panes,

Jr., Ed.D. Senior TESD Specialists and TESD II Specialists from RTC-KorPhil facilitated the training, ensuring a comprehensive and high-quality learning experience for all participants.

A major highlight of the program was the 100% passing rate achieved by all 54 SHS-TVL teachers in their competency assessments. This accomplishment underscores the effectiveness of the training and the commitment of both DepEd and TESDA in upskilling SHS teachers to become competent assessors.

The primary objective of the training was to equip SHS teachers with the necessary skills to serve as assessors, aligning with the Accreditation of SHS Teachers as TVET Competency Assessors. This initiative aims to expand the number of accredited assessors in the Technical-Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector, ensuring a higher standard of assessment and instruction in technical-vocational programs.

The successful completion of the program marks a significant step in strengthening technical-vocational education in Senior High Schools by ensuring that educators are well-prepared to assess students in various technical competencies. With this continued collaboration between DepEd and TESDA, the region can expect further enhancements in the quality of technical-vocational education and assessment, ultimately benefiting students and the workforce sector alike.
