Twenty trainees enrolled in the Rice Machinery Operations (RMO) NC II qualification received their first tranche of Training Support Fund (TSF) under TESDA’s Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP) during a distribution event held at Gravity Irrigators Sustainable Agriculture Cooperative (GISACO), Purok Molave, Brgy. New Visayas, Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte. The financial assistance, facilitated by the Regional Training Center – Korea-Philippines Vocational Training Center (RTC-KPVTC), Davao in coordination with the TESDA Davao City District Office (DCDO), aimed at helping scholars sustain their training journey and prepare for livelihood opportunities.
With rice being a staple crop and a backbone of Philippine agriculture, the need for skilled machinery operators continues to grow. The provision of TSF empowers the trainees to focus on completing their training without economic barriers, ultimately contributing to workforce readiness and improved agricultural productivity in their communities.
This initial fund release marks the beginning of a meaningful journey for the scholars toward certification, employment, and possibly entrepreneurship in the agri-mechanization sector. As TESDA continues to invest in workforce development through TWSP, initiatives like this underscore the agency’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable skills training for all Filipinos.
